Update – February 9, 2010

From time to time we will provide an update on the different areas of The Higher Law and the movement it inspires.  The following are these updates as of today.

The Higher Law

We have been working on translating Section 3 of The Higher Law.  We have only been allowed to translate 2 characters in this section over the last three weeks.  We have been directed to spend our time on multiple different projects that have reduced the time we have had for translation.  This being said, we have been led on a personal journey that provided significant context for Section 3 that should allow us to move forward on translation at a much faster pace.

Character Formations

We have made good progress on the translation of the first character formation in identifying its overall structure and some important core context.  We currently know the names of three characters, but have not translated any of them.  We continue to work on this.

For the second character formation, we know the names of the 70+ characters we have identified (sometimes we find that what we once thought was one character is actually two characters).  We also have some high-level context, but have much work to do on this.

Blog

The blog was launched on January 18, 2010.  Since then, we have posted many important aspects of the history of this movement as well as provided a good foundation of knowledge of The Higher Law and this movement.  To date, we have allowed the blog to spread through our family and friends and have obtained a good, consistent reader base.  In the near future, the blog will be exposed to a much larger audience.

Other

Throughout the history of this movement, we have learned about the importance of China in the success of this movement.  This has become more and more clear over the last few weeks.  In a future blog post, we will discuss this in more detail.

We also continue to learn more and more of the important role of Josephus and the importance of understanding his identity and mission.

    Jason Johnson,

After I recently heard about this movement that you are undertaking, I must admit I’m terrified for you, your wife and your children. PLEASE abandon this practice immediately, your actions frighten me and those who live around you. There was a recent post that I read that relates your actions to those of the Laferty brothers from many years ago, and I must say that I agree with this, and I just hope that our Father in Heaven will show you how WRONG you are in this path you have undertaken.

  2. Prime says:

Hello Jason, this is directly intended for you. I know you and your family, i have even shaken your hand in the past. I know most of all your daughter. when I knew her she was such a sweet and intelligent girl I do ever so hope you have not filled her mind with this complete and utter misdirected non-sense. I have read every single bit of history every word on your site, it is non logical, and totally unfeesable.
Back in my time of knowing your daughter you were an extremely strict parent. So much so that it really amazed me. Now i will not attack you, and especially not with other forms of religion but with simple facts. The fact that what you are going after very much resembles other harmful cults formed in the past. Leaders who actually believed they were spoken to by god or messengers of and ended up commiting mass suicides and other un-needed acts that just wasted potentially glorious lives.

Now here is my message to any people reading this, including Mr.Johnson. Live life abundantly, god or no god, faith or no faith it matters not. The single most important thing is to treat your fellow humans with respect and kindness that is all. You do not need god to be good. Just live and enjoy, and if there is a god glorious in all his power and he loves us all the kindness and love we share with eachother should be all he needs to satisfy him, not worship, and if not that is no god I ever want to be associated with.

From the LDS scriptures, Moroni 7:15-17

15 For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may know good from evil; and the way to judge is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as the daylight is from the dark night.

16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.

17 But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him.

So far the writings of this blog have strengthened my faith in Christ, and my desire to do good.

I wonder how many of the blog’s critics have made this a matter of prayer.

  4. MARY'S FRIEND says:

    dear wondergirl,
How does this strengthen your faith in Christ when there is not even one mention of Christ in the entire blog. God, Abraham, Elijah, Tupac, Sarah Brightman, Mratin Luther King, moses are all mentioned. But Christ is never mentioned.

  5. [...] here’s my question to Prime and all others who hold to this particular belief system: How can you have anything good without [...]

  6. I don't believe it says:

    @ Wondergirl

To me the key to that scripture has always been “and to persuade to believe in Christ.”

I haven’t seen any mention on this blog of Jesus Christ. I have read the writings carefully, but have found no testimony of Christ here. I have read about God, seer stones, translations, visions, heavenly messengers, transfiguration, Moses, Elijah, Tupac, Sarah Brightman, Martin Luther King Jr., etc. but there has been no mention of Jesus Christ. The writings of this blog have not strengthened my faith in Christ, nor do I believe that they are persuading anyone to believe in Christ.

I am grateful for the “Spirit of Christ which is given to every man, that he may know good from evil.” The spirit has testified to me that this blog and this movement are not good.

  7. RWP says:

    I’m with you Wondergirl.

I have to disagree with “I don’t believe it:” the key is not “and to persuade to believe in Christ” but rather “the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil…” The belief in Christ is one indicator of the persuasion, along with “every thing which inviteth to do good.”

The fact that there is no mention of Christ in these posts is actually the point. The blog isn’t about Christ. But its certainly plausible that reading and learning and, most importantly, praying about the things found here can bring someone closer to Christ, not because the blog talks about Him or doesn’t talk about Him, but because that’s what prayer and communion with God do.

  8. Justin says:

    Dear Mary’s Friend
So you are saying that god or Christ can’t work through other people? These people that you mentioned all have strengthened my faith in Christ and god. Who are you to judge who god works through?

  9. mary says:

It is never a good idea to use scripture in a debate, just be careful. I think people are entitled to their own opinions, even if we think they are wrong. I personally think all of this is crazy, and entertaining as well.

  10. wondergirl says:

I want to have a sure knowledge about the divinity origins of the Higher Law. To that end, I am praying more than my typical twice a day. I’ve delved into the scriptures. I’m actively seeking a confirmation that goes beyond the spirit of peace that I feel when I read and contemplate the blog posts.

I have an even greater desire to know and do God’s will. Reading here has been the catalyst that put this all in motion for me.

  11. An old friend says:

    Justin
If this is Justin D., I know you, I grew up with you and it breaks my heart that you are a part of this insanity. Please see reason, please. I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. I think though if this were in anyway true he wouldn’t be commiting suicide. I don’t want this to happen to you. You are a good person, and you have many people worried about you. You are being decieved by someone that has a mental illness. Please seek help and get away from this.

  12. Racq says:

This reminds me of Joseph Smith. He had all the same claims as this website does, visions, stones. The only proof he gave was his book. Maybe we should wait for his proof. Or you might as well call Joseph Smith crazy.

  13. Jim says:

    Racq- Joseph Smith was/is crazy!
